End Citizens United Rips ‘Trump Mobile’ as the First Family’s Latest Scheme to Cash In on the Presidency
As the Trump family rolls out its latest absurd grift to monetize the White House—this time with a Donald Trump-branded cell phone service and smartphone line—Tiffany Muller, president of anti-corruption group End Citizens United, issued the following statement:
“The launch of ‘Trump Mobile’ isn’t just another tacky branding stunt—it’s the latest chapter in Donald Trump’s relentless, desperate, and cartoonishly corrupt scheme to squeeze every dollar he can out of his time in the White House.
“No sitting president in American history has so shamelessly used the Oval Office for personal gain. Whether selling worthless crypto memecoins for access, accepting a $400 million luxury jet from a foreign government, or brazenly taking bribes in exchange for pardons, Trump has shown that nothing is off-limits when it comes to enriching himself.
“Congress must do its job and investigate this corrupt scheme. Every cowardly Republican who stays silent is greenlighting the biggest scam in American history, and we will work tirelessly to hold them accountable at the ballot box next year.”
Earlier this month, ECU filed a complaint over Trump’s bribery-for-pardon scheme. In a complaint to the U.S. Office of Government Ethics and the Department of Justice, Muller urged top officials to investigate the President’s recent pardon of Paul Walczak, which came just weeks after Walczak’s mother attended a $1 million-per-person fundraising dinner at Trump’s private Mar-a-Lago club.
Muller, a nationally recognized expert on political corruption, is available for comment on this development and the dangerous culture of corruption and self-dealing that has come to define the Trump administration. To request an interview, please contact Kolby Lee (kolbylee@endcitizensunited.org).
