End Citizens United Statement on Three Year Anniversary of Supreme Court Overturning Roe v. Wade

Tiffany Muller, president of anti-corruption group End Citizens United, released the following statement on the three year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s devastating ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that overturned Roe v. Wade:  

“Three years ago, the extremist wing of the Supreme Court made the decision to overturn almost 50 years of precedent set by Roe v. Wade, triggering the loss of fundamental rights for millions of Americans in a matter of seconds.  

“This devastating decision was bankrolled by a decades-long effort by right-wing donors who spent over $1 billion of dark money to stack the Supreme Court and lobby Republicans to pass deadly abortion bans. Three years later, women’s lives are still at risk as Republicans are working to impose national anti-abortion restrictions, and corrupt justices—who’ve pocketed millions of dollars from ultra-conservative billionaires—rule on reproductive rights cases.

“Americans across the county now have to grapple with the harsh reality set in motion by Dobbs that their rights are determined by their zip code. Let today be a reminder that we must continue fighting extremism by exposing the dark money corrupting our judicial institutions and threatening our freedoms.”
