PRESS RELEASE

End Citizens United Endorses Gina Hinojosa for Texas Governor

End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed Gina Hinojosa in the Texas gubernatorial race. Hinojosa is committed to rooting out corruption in state government and rejects corporate PAC money, holding herself to a high standard and proving accountability to voters.

“Texans have seen too many corrupt politicians sell out working families to wealthy donors, and Gina Hinojosa is running to change that,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “People are fed up with rising costs, rampant corruption, and assaults on their voting rights. They deserve a new governor who will stand with them instead of the powerful and well-connected. While Greg Abbott does the bidding of his special interest donors, Gina answers to Texans and is proving her commitment to them by refusing to take a dime of corporate PAC money. We are proud to endorse Gina and look forward to helping her win in November.”

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of End Citizens United,” said Gina Hinojosa. “Texas is a world economic powerhouse built by working people, but because Greg Abbott does the bidding of his billionaire donors, Texans are paying higher prices, schools are shutting down, and homeownership is moving further out of reach. As governor, I’ll end Greg Abbott’s pay-to-play corruption and take on the corporate greed that’s making life unaffordable for working families.”

Hinojosa has made ending systemic corruption the centerpiece of her campaign, vowing to dismantle the pay-to-play culture in Texas that prioritizes billionaire donors over working families. She does not take corporate PAC money and emphasizes that rising costs are tied to Governor Greg Abbott’s backroom deals and no-bid contracts with corporate donors.
