ECU Endorses Sherrod Brown for OH-SEN

End Citizens United (ECU), one of the nation’s leading anti-corruption organizations, today endorsed Sherrod Brown for the U.S. Senate.

“Sherrod Brown is one of the strongest leaders in the country in the fight against corruption and is an unrelenting champion for Ohio families,” said ECU President Tiffany Muller. “He’s taken on corporate special interests, fought to lower costs for working families, and led efforts to make government accountable to the people. Sherrod understands that corruption in Washington makes it harder for Ohioans to get ahead, and he’s always stood up to the corporate lobbyists trying to rig the system against Ohio workers. We’re proud to endorse him, and we look forward to helping him win this election.”

“Ohioans know I’ll always fight for them and for the dignity of work, and I’ll always side with workers over Wall Street, with patients over drug companies, with Ohio families over the corporations raising their prices,” said Sherrod Brown. “Workers deserve a seat at the table in Washington, and that starts with overturning Citizens United and ensuring that corporate special interests no longer have a louder voice in our government simply because they can funnel millions into our elections. I am grateful for the support of End Citizens United, and I look forward to working together to crack down on corruption in Washington.”

During his time in the Senate, Brown was a leader in pushing for legislation to limit the influence of corporate special interests and in making the government accountable to the people. He supported a number of reform bills, including the Freedom to Vote Act, the Democracy For All Amendment, the Spotlight Act, and the DISCLOSE Act. He also led efforts to crackdown on self-enrichment in Washington, co-sponsoring bipartisan legislation to ban members of Congress from trading individual stock and introducing a bill to stop Federal Reserve officials from profiting off their positions. In 2024, Brown received an “A” on ECU // LAV’s legislative scorecard on anti-corruption and voting rights efforts.
