End Citizens United Announces 2026 Most Corrupt Politicians List

End Citizens United, a leading national anti-corruption organization, today released its 2026 Most Corrupt list, launching a nationwide accountability campaign. The project will expose elected officials who have abused their positions of power to benefit themselves, their corporate donors, and special interests, at the expense of working families.

“The corrupt politicians on this year’s list take money from corporate special interests and billionaires and use their power to protect those same donors as they raise prices on working families. They side with Big Pharma, Big Oil, Big Tech, and Wall Street while hardworking Americans pay more for everyday essentials like health care, utilities, and rent,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “Their corruption directly impacts what families can afford and how far paychecks will go. At a time when corruption is defining our politics, these elected officials stand out for how far they have gone to serve their donors and themselves. We’re going to make sure their constituents know exactly who is responsible for the economic pain they are experiencing.”

The full list of the 2026 Most Corrupt politicians includes:

  • Eli Crane (AZ-02)

  • Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06)

  • Gabe Evans (CO-08)

  • Ashley Moody (FL SEN)

  • Mariannettee Miller- Meeks (IA-01)

  • Zach Nunn (IA-03)

  • Kris Kobach (KS-AG)

  • Susan Collins (ME SEN)

  • Bil Huizenga (MI-04)

  • Chuck Edwards (NC-11)

  • Tom Kean Jr. (NJ-07)

  • Mike Lawler (NY-17)

  • Jon Husted (OH SEN)

  • Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07)

  • Rob Bresnahan (PA-08)

  • Scott Perry (PA-10)

  • Andy Ogles (TN-05)

  • Rob Wittman (VA-01)

  • Derek Van Orden (WI-03)

The politicians on this list have taken some of the most egregious steps to sell out their constituents for personal and political gain. Collectively, they have taken over $26 million from corporate PACs while advancing an agenda that rips critical services away from Americans. They have taken $2.5 million from the pharmaceutical and health insurance industries while blocking efforts to lower prescription drug costs and protect access to affordable care. They have taken $13 million from Wall Street while pushing to weaken oversight and accountability over predatory financial practices. They have rewarded defense companies with contracts worth billions of dollars while raking in campaign cash from the same entities. And they have taken $4.5 million from fossil fuel interests and utility companies while opposing efforts to invest in clean energy to lower energy costs.

The Most Corrupt politicians are also some of the wealthiest, with their net worths totaling at over $96 million. They have traded stocks at a $98 million volume, often timing those trades to upcoming votes and investing in the same corporations that have filled their campaign coffers. On top of corporate donations, they have benefited from $48 million in outside spending in their campaigns, coming from special interests from the gun lobby to anti-environmental organizations to billionaire-backed Wall Street groups.

As part of this effort, ECU is highlighting some of the worst examples of the Most Corrupt politicians’ records on a dedicated website. The group will also conduct sustained earned media and direct voter engagement. The campaign will ensure voters have clear, accessible information about how their representatives have put special interests ahead of the people they serve. ECU will continue working to hold these politicians accountable and make corruption a defining issue in the 2026 midterms.

With trust in government at an all-time low, the Most Corrupt list serves as a way to hold politicians accountable and push for electoral change. Recent data shows public trust in government continuously declining, reaching just 17% by the end of last year. Corruption and violations of public integrity play a major role in undermining Americans’ perceptions of their government. In a poll last year, ECU found that 89% of voters expressed that reducing government corruption should be a somewhat or very big priority for Congress. In the same poll, 80% of voters believe there are big problems in Washington that need fixing. Voters deserve to know the full extent of corruption and ethics violations by public officials so that they can elect real leaders who put people over profit.
