End Citizens United Endorses Aaron Ford for Governor of Nevada

End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today announced its endorsement of Aaron Ford for Governor of Nevada. Ford — a former public school teacher and state legislator who now serves as Nevada’s Attorney General — is challenging Republican Governor Joe Lombardo, whose administration has been defined by cozying up to special interests, embracing dark money, and blocking common-sense anti-corruption reforms in Carson City.

“Attorney General Ford has earned a reputation as a tireless fighter for Nevada families and a fierce defender of good government,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “As the state’s top law enforcement officer, he has gone head-to-head with corporate landlords, insurance companies, predatory lenders, and other powerful interests to hold them accountable and protect everyday consumers. As Governor, he will clean up the culture of corruption Joe Lombardo has let fester in Carson City and restore integrity and accountability to the office. We are proud to support him in the fight to put Nevadans first and ensure state government works for families, not wealthy special interests.”

“I’m proud to have the endorsement of End Citizens United,” said Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford. “Joe Lombardo’s record of protecting special interests, shielding dark-money contributors, and vetoing the very reforms that would have held them accountable is exactly what’s broken about our system — politicians protecting their donors instead of the people they serve. At a time when so many Nevadans are working hard just to get by, we can start fixing that imbalance by reforming a system that too often puts money ahead of people.”

Ford continues: “As Attorney General, I’ve fought tirelessly to protect the integrity of our democracy — defending Nevadans’ right to vote, holding bad actors accountable, and taking on powerful interests that try to buy influence. As Governor, I’ll continue putting working families first.”
