End Citizens United Endorses Amy Acton for Ohio Governor

End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed Amy Acton for governor in Ohio. Acton is running a campaign focused on rooting out corruption in Columbus and lowering costs for Ohio families who are paying the price for a system dominated by special interests and dark money.

“Rampant government corruption in Ohio has allowed powerful interests to profit while families across the state struggle with rising costs,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “Amy Acton understands that corruption and economic fairness are deeply connected. Throughout her career, she has taken on powerful interests that put profits ahead of people, including holding Big Pharma accountable for recklessly fueling the opioid epidemic. She is committed to shining a light on dark money, increasing accountability, and making sure government decisions are made for the public, not the wealthy and well-connected. We are proud to endorse Amy Acton and look forward to helping elect her this year.”

“I am grateful for the endorsement of End Citizens United, who is fighting every day to put the needs of working families before the special interests and billionaires dominating our politics,” said Dr. Amy Acton. “While Vivek Ramaswamy tells Ohioans rising costs are in our imagination, families in Ohio are struggling to keep up with their energy bills and skyrocketing health insurance premiums. Our corrupt statehouse has given tax breaks to my opponent and his billionaire friends while the rest of us are footing the bill. It is time for a change in Ohio. I look forward to working with End Citizens United to make Ohio a place where all of us can thrive.”

Ohio’s recent $61 million energy company bribery scandal exposed how deeply corrupt pay-to-play politics has taken hold in the statehouse. Acton is running for governor to root out corruption and restore transparency and accountability in government while fighting for policies that lower costs for families and protect families from corporate abuse, including cracking down on price gouging, wage theft, and rising health care costs.
