End Citizens United Endorses Sarah Trone Garriott in Iowa's 3rd Congressional District
End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed State Sen. Sarah Trone Garriott for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, citing her commitment to making government work for people, not political insiders or special interests.
“Sarah Trone Garriott brings a deep sense of purpose and integrity to public service at a time when people feel like government is working against their interests,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “She will fight against the corruption that prevents progress on issues affecting everyday people, including lowering the costs of everyday essentials. She’s running to restore accountability and put working families back at the center of decision-making. We’re proud to endorse Senator Trone Garriott and look forward to helping her bring this fight for accountability to Washington.”
“I’m honored to have the endorsement of End Citizens United,” said Iowa State Senator Sarah Trone Garriott. “Since going to Washington, Zach Nunn has put corporate special interests ahead of everyday Iowans. I’m running to represent the people of Iowa’s third district, take on Washington corruption, and lower costs for working families. I’m grateful for the support of End Citizens United as we work toward a government that puts Iowans first.”
Sarah Trone Garriott has built a career around serving others, from her work as a minister, food pantry coordinator, and state senator. She has championed efforts to strengthen ethics laws and ban stock trading by state legislators, while also advancing policies to expand health care access. As the only Democrat in Iowa to flip multiple districts and represent an area that voted for Donald Trump, she is well positioned to win a traditionally Republican seat.
