End Citizens United Stands With Southern Poverty Law Center Against Vindictive Federal Charges

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement condemning the Trump administration’s indictment of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) on fraud charges.

“These charges against the SPLC are another politically-driven attempt to silence civil rights organizations and other opponents of President Trump,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “The SPLC’s mission to dismantle discriminatory laws and advocate for historically disenfranchised voters is critical. The Trump administration continues to weaponize the Justice Department against personal enemies and organizations that they view as a threat to their power. We urge others to join us in standing with the SPLC and resisting Donald Trump’s partisan power grabs.”

The Southern Poverty Law Center has defended civil rights for 55 years. The organization works tirelessly to protect voting rights, secure equal access to legal systems, and fight systemic racism to improve justice throughout the country.
