“Too many elected officials in Washington are beholden to special interests instead of the people they’re supposed to serve,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “The members we’re endorsing today have chosen a different approach. By rejecting corporate PAC money, they are demonstrating a clear commitment to accountability and putting their constituents first. We need more leaders in Congress like them who understand that meaningful progress requires independence from corporate influence. We’re proud to endorse these reformers and we look forward to helping them win in November.”
Rejecting corporate PAC money is also a core pillar of ECU’s Unrig Washington campaign, a bold new standard for Democratic candidates and members of Congress to show they are serious about cleaning up Washington and putting voters first. Candidates who join this program commit to rejecting corporate PAC contributions, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics. More than 120 candidates and elected officials are part of Unrig Washington, including several of the candidates endorsed today.
