End Citizens United Endorses Bob Brooks for Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District
End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed Bob Brooks for Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District. Brooks has joined Unrig Washington, a coalition launched by ECU in which candidates commit to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and working to end dark money in politics.
“Bob Brooks has spent his life standing up for working families and taking on powerful interests, and that is exactly the kind of leadership Pennsylvanians are calling for in this cost-of-living crisis we’re in,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “As a firefighter for more than 20 years and a union president, he stood up to politicians to secure better wages, benefits, and protections for workers across the state. By refusing corporate PAC money and backing critical anti-corruption reforms to increase transparency and accountability, Bob is making clear that he will only answer to the people, not the ultra-rich or corporate special interests. We are proud to endorse him and look forward to helping him win.”
“I’m proud to have the endorsement of End Citizens United,” said Bob Brooks. “Families that I know across Lehigh Valley are dealing with skyrocketing costs while corrupt politicians do nothing to fix this chaos. We need to repeal Citizens United and pass laws that protect hard-working people. The richest people in our country are making it impossible to earn a living wage, raise a family, and pay for basic necessities. I’m grateful to work with End Citizens United to put out the fire that we’re seeing in Congress and change the broken system.”
Bob Brooks has dedicated his career to fighting for working people and will bring that same commitment to Congress. As the president of the Pennsylvania Professional Firefighters Association, he negotiated fair contracts for thousands of emergency responders and secured mental health coverage for firefighters coping with job-related trauma. Brooks is part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program, where he joins 140 Democratic candidates and counting in rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and promising to crack down on dark money in politics.
