End Citizens United Endorses Cait Conley for New York’s 17th Congressional District

End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed Cait Conley for New York’s 17th Congressional District. Conley is part of Unrig Washington, a program launched by ECU in which candidates reject corporate PAC money, support a ban on congressional stock trading, and work to end dark money in politics.

“Cait Conley has answered the call to serve her country many times, and she knows that corruption is threatening the communities she has fought to defend,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “She is stepping up once again because working people in New York deserve real leadership, not corporate price-gouging and government inaction. We’re proud to endorse Cait, a candidate who refuses corporate PAC money and will put her constituents ahead of campaign donors. We look forward to helping her win in November.”

“I’m grateful for the endorsement of End Citizens United, which is working to root out the corruption that is undermining American democracy,” said Cait Conley. “Working people are paying too much for their health care, utility bills, and everything else because politicians are failing to crack down on corporations. We need real reform so our elected officials can deliver for their constituents, not corporations and the ultra-wealthy trying to rig the system. I am excited to take this fight on alongside ECU to end the corruption and make sure it is the people and not corporations that Congress is looking out for.”

Cait Conley has dedicated her whole career to public service. Her 16 years as an active-duty Army officer earned her three Bronze Stars, and she continued her service as the Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council. She later fought to protect election security and integrity at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. She is running for Congress to continue defending democracy in her hometown located in the Hudson Valley.

Conley offers a stark contrast to her opponent, Rep. Mike Lawler, a former lobbyist who funneled $500,000 in campaign funds to his own firm and has accepted over $875,000 in corporate PAC money since 2022. While Lawler was recently named to ECU’s 2026 Most Corrupt List, Conley has committed to a reform agenda as part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program. She joins more than 200 Democratic candidates in rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics. Since its founding in 2015, ECU has had over 1.4 million donors with an average donation of just $14. The group has more than four million members nationwide and is one of the nation’s leading anti-corruption organizations.
