End Citizens United Endorses Daniel Biss for Illinois’ 9th Congressional District

End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss for Illinois’ 9th Congressional District. Biss is part of Unrig Washington, a program launched by ECU in which candidates reject corporate PAC money, support a ban on congressional stock trading, and work to end dark money in politics.

“Mayor Biss understands that the challenges working families are facing are directly tied to a political system that puts special interests first,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “He’s committed to tackling corruption in Washington and strengthening accountability so that government prioritizes the people it’s supposed to serve. By rejecting corporate PAC money, he’s making clear he will answer to voters, not donors. We’re proud to endorse Mayor Biss and look forward to helping him win in November.”

“I’m grateful for the endorsement of End Citizens United,” said Mayor Daniel Biss. “Too many politicians in Washington are taking corporate checks and lining their own pockets with lobbyist favors, then voting for legislation that hurts working people. We need to set a new standard in Congress by holding grifters accountable and delivering for our constituents. I’m glad to be working with End Citizens United toward that goal.”

As Mayor of Evanston and a former state legislator, Biss has advanced reforms to strengthen ethics rules and restore trust in government. He has also championed policies to expand health care access and economic opportunity, recognizing that corruption makes it harder to address the issues families care about most. Biss is also part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program, where he joins hundreds of Democratic candidates in rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics.
