End Citizens United Endorses Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton for U.S. Senate
End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today announced its endorsement of Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton in her campaign for the U.S. Senate. Stratton, who has served Illinoisans for six years as lieutenant governor, recently joined ECU’s “Unrig Washington” initiative—a bold new standard for Democratic congressional candidates to demonstrate their commitment to cleaning up Washington and putting voters first.
“We’re backing Juliana Stratton for U.S. Senate because the corruption in Washington is failing everyday Illinoisans, and she’s ready to fight back,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “As lieutenant governor, she has stood up to powerful special interests and fought tirelessly for working-class families across Illinois. Now, as a candidate, she’s refusing corporate PAC donations and pledging to crack down on dark money in politics. Lt. Governor Stratton is the leader Illinois—and our country—needs to reclaim Washington for the people."
“I’m proud to have earned the endorsement of End Citizens United in my campaign for U.S. Senate,” said Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton. “I’m running to put the needs of Illinois’ working families first, not corporate special interests. Together, we can pass meaningful campaign finance reform and protect our democracy.”
By joining ECU’s “Unrig Washington” campaign earlier this year, Lt. Governor Stratton became one of more than 100 Democratic Congressional candidates committed to restoring trust and accountability in government. The nationwide effort pushes three key reforms—banning congressional stock trading, refusing corporate PAC money, and cracking down on dark money in politics.
