End Citizens United Looks Forward to Helping Sherrod Brown End Sen. Husted’s Corrupt Agenda in Washington
End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the below statement on former Senator Sherrod Brown officially securing the Democratic nomination for Senate in Ohio.
“Sherrod has spent his career taking on corporate special interests and fighting to put power back in the hands of working people,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “Appointed Sen. Jon Husted, on the other hand, has taken his donor-driven agenda from Columbus to Washington. As one of the most corrupt elected officials in Ohio history, Sen. Husted continues to put his wealthy contributors ahead of the people he’s supposed to serve. Sherrod’s leadership is needed more than ever to fight back against the culture of corruption in Washington. We are proud to stand with Sherrod, and we are excited to help him get back to the Senate in November.”
ECU endorsed Sherrod Brown in August 2025. During his three terms in the Senate, Brown led the push for legislation that would limit corporate influence in politics and bring transparency to the campaign finance system. He supported the Freedom to Vote Act, the Democracy for All Amendment, the Spotlight Act, and the DISCLOSE Act. He also led efforts to crack down on self-enrichment in Washington by co-sponsoring bipartisan legislation to ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks and introducing a bill to stop Federal Reserve officials from profiting off their positions.
In 2024, Brown received an “A” grade on ECU’s Anti-Corruption and Voting Rights Scorecard. Brown has dedicated his career to standing up for Ohioan voters, previously representing Ohio’s 13th Congressional District and serving as Secretary of State.
