End Citizens United Endorses Colin Allred for Texas’ 33rd Congressional District
End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed Colin Allred for Texas’ 33rd Congressional District. Allred is part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program for candidates that reject corporate PAC money, support a ban on congressional stock trading, and work to end dark money in politics.
“Colin Allred is a deeply committed public servant who always put working families at the center of every decision he made during his time in office,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “In Congress, he earned a reputation as a principled leader who tackled corruption and held powerful special interests accountable. He rejects corporate PAC money because he believes Texans should never worry about who he’s working for. We’re proud to endorse Colin and look forward to helping him win in November.”
“I’m honored to be endorsed by End Citizens United,” said former Representative Colin Allred. “Costs are rising and rights are under attack because Republicans have allowed corruption to run rampant in Washington. It’s time to restore trust in our government by serving the people, rather than catering to the interests of billionaires and big corporations. End Citizens United is working to make that possible, and I look forward to partnering with them in this fight.”
Colin Allred has never traded a single stock or taken a dime of corporate PAC money. He has put people over profit throughout his career, from serving in the Department of Housing and Urban Development to securing over $135 million in investments for the district during his previous terms in Congress. He also led his House colleagues in advocating for the passage of the Freedom to Vote Act in 2021, which included two of his provisions: the Shell Company Abuse Act and the Know Your Polling Place Act. ECU has been a major supporter of Allred throughout his congressional campaigns. Allred is part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program, where he joins over 200 Democratic candidates in rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics.
