PRESS RELEASE

End Citizens United Endorses Connie Chan for California’s 11th Congressional District

End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed Connie Chan for California’s 11th Congressional District. Chan is also joining ECU’s Unrig Washington program for candidates who reject corporate PAC money, support a ban on congressional stock trading, and work to end dark money in politics. Chan is the only candidate in this race rejecting corporate PAC money.

“Our political system gives big corporations too much access and influence in government. Connie has spent her career standing up to those corporations, and they’re spending heavily to stop her because they can’t buy her allegiance,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “Her refusal to take corporate PAC money is a reflection of who she is and who she fights for. We’re proud to endorse Connie and we look forward to helping her win.”

“I’m proud to have the support of End Citizens United because we share the simple belief that government should work for people, not powerful special interests,” said Connie Chan. “Corporations are driving the affordability crisis that is making it harder and harder for San Franciscans to get by. I’ve become their top target because I’ve stood up to them and demanded accountability. I’ve never accepted corporate PAC money because I want voters to know who I work for. San Francisco is not for sale, and neither am I.”

Chan has never accepted a dime from big business in any of her races. In addition to the endorsement, Chan is also joining ECU’s Unrig Washington program, alongside more than 240 Democratic candidates committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics.
