PRESS RELEASE

End Citizens United Endorses Dr. Amish Shah in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District

End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed Dr. Amish Shah in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District. As part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program, Shah rejects corporate PAC money, supports a ban on congressional stock trading, and commits to getting dark money out of elections.

“Dr. Amish Shah understands the challenges that Arizona communities are facing because he’s spent his whole life serving them,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “From rising grocery prices to devastating medical bills, he knows these problems all trace back to corruption in Washington. Dr. Shah is promising to champion working people, not special interests and wealthy donors. In fact, he doesn’t take corporate PAC money at all. We’re proud to endorse Dr. Shah and look forward to helping him flip this seat in November.”

“Arizonans are experiencing what happens when Congress only answers to its donors,” said Dr. Amish Shah. “Costs keep rising, we see democracy malfunctioning, and our representatives are only using their power to protect corporations. We have to build a more accountable government by cracking down on the corrupt pay-to-play culture in Washington. I look forward to working with End Citizens United to get money out of politics, and I’m grateful for their endorsement.”

Dr. Amish Shah has spent decades serving Arizonans, from his 20 years as an emergency room physician to his three terms in the State Legislature. He had more bills signed into law than any other Arizona Democrat in the past decade, building an impactful legislative record. Dr. Shah is part of Unrig Washington, joining more than 275 Democratic candidates committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics.
