PRESS RELEASE

End Citizens United Endorses Sam Forstag in Montana’s 1st Congressional District

End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed Sam Forstag for Montana’s 1st Congressional District. Forstag is part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program for candidates that reject corporate PAC money, support a ban on congressional stock trading, and work to end dark money in politics.

“Montanans are feeling the impacts of a government captured by Big Money and corporate special interests,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “Sam Forstag understands that this corruption is at the root of rising costs and unaffordable health care, and it’s why billionaires keep getting tax breaks while working people are left behind. He refuses to take a dime of corporate PAC money to prove to voters that he’s only accountable to them. We are proud to endorse Sam and look forward to helping him win in November.”

“The flood of money in our political system has been devastating for working families,” said Sam Forstag. “Across Montana, prices are going up while corporations keep raking in profit. We have not seen enough leadership willing to stand up to wealthy special interests, and I’m running to change that. I’m honored to be endorsed by End Citizens United and look forward to partnering with them in this fight.”

Sam Forstag has advocated for his fellow workers as a union leader, organizing against Elon Musk’s cuts to the Forest Service and bringing a voice for Montanans to the state legislature. He also serves as a smoke jumper, parachuting into remote areas to fight fires. Forstag is part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program, where he joins over 200 candidates in rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics.
