PRESS RELEASE

End Citizens United Calls on Ken Paxton to Repay Millions in Taxpayer-Funded Travel

Following New York Times reporting about how Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has misused over $3 million in taxpayer dollars to fund his lavish travel lifestyle, End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller is calling on Paxton to repay the money:

“Ken Paxton can’t justify this absurd waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer money. Texans have been footing the bill for his trips to Aruba, the Kentucky Derby, and Dubai, where he partied with fugitives facing federal fraud charges. He’s been treating taxpayer money as if it's his own personal slush fund.

“We’re demanding that Ken Paxton return every penny of taxpayer money he misused. That money belongs to the people of Texas, not Ken Paxton.”

Over his political career, Ken Paxton has focused on his own financial interests and serving the donors who keep him in power. ECU named him to its 2026 Most Corrupt Politicians List, citing his extensive history of engaging in fraud and protecting the powerful at the expense of everyday Texans.
