Three Questions Rep. Gabe Evans Must Answer on Corruption Allegations During August Recess

With members of Congress back in their districts for August recess, Representative Gabe Evans should have to answer for his corrupt record in Washington.

In Congress, he has been focused on cashing in corporate PAC money and pandering to corporate donors even as families in his district deal with a rapidly worsening cost of living crisis.

These questions get to the heart of the pay-to-play approach to governing and how his relationships with special interests have influenced his votes in Congress at the expense of his constituents.

You have taken over $362,000 from corporate PACs as a freshman member of Congress. Those same corporations keep raising costs on your constituents. How can you justify continuing to take their money and refusing to hold them accountable?
By supporting the continuation of US attacks in Iran and the invasion of Venezuela, you broke your 2024 pledge to oppose endless wars. You’ve also been raking in campaign contributions from the defense industry. Why should voters trust you to stick to any of your campaign promises after this blatant betrayal?
You’ve taken campaign money from Xcel Energy’s PAC, the utility company driving up rates for Coloradans, then voted for the Trump budget bill that repeals tax credits to lower utility costs. Coloradans’ power bills are already up 24% since 2021, and you voted to push them even higher. Why have you done nothing for your constituents who are paying for your corrupt, pay-to-play approach to governance?
