PRESS RELEASE

ECU Congratulates Jake Johnson on Winning the Democratic Primary in Minnesota’s 1st District

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement congratulating ECU-endorsed Jake Johnson on winning the Democratic primary in Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District:

“Congratulations to Jake Johnson on his win today. He didn’t take a dime of corporate PAC money, so voters never have to guess who he’s working for. Jake understands the real consequences of corruption in Washington: rising costs, fewer resources, and lower opportunity for families. Congress needs more leaders like Jake, and we’re proud to be supporting him all the way to November.”

ECU endorsed Johnson in May. He is poised to be a strong voice against corruption in Washington after spending 20 years as an educator and advocating for fairer labor policies as the government relations coordinator for his union. Johnson has also joined ECU’s Unrig Washington program, alongside more than 270 Democratic candidates committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics.
