PRESS RELEASE

End Citizens United Congratulates Randy Villegas on Advancing in California's 22nd C.D.

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement congratulating ECU-endorsed Randy Villegas on advancing in the general election in California’s 22nd Congressional District:

“Congratulations to Randy Villegas. He advanced tonight because voters in the 22nd district are demanding change to a rigged political system that favors the wealthy and well-connected. His platform of accountability and reform is a breath of fresh air for voters tired of corruption and rising prices. He understands that government corruption is causing economic hardship for families in the district. Randy’s win today is further proof that voters are hungry for change. We are proud to have endorsed Randy and look forward to helping him win in November.”

ECU endorsed Randy Villegas in April. He has dedicated his career to creating opportunity in his community — whether as a professor, organizer, or congressional candidate. He will bring that same fighting spirit to Washington and set a higher standard for accountability in elected office. Villegas is part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program, where he joins Democratic candidates in rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics.
