PRESS RELEASE

End Citizens United Endorses Don Ufford in Michigan’s 11th Congressional District

End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed Don Ufford in Michigan’s 11th Congressional District. Ufford is part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program for candidates who reject corporate PAC money, support a ban on congressional stock trading, and work to end dark money in politics.

“Michiganders know what happens when special interests have free rein to spend on elections. Costs go up, opportunities go down, and working people get left behind because politicians are only answering to their big donors,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “Don Ufford is rejecting corporate PAC money for that exact reason — he’s showing through his actions that he’ll work to lower costs, not protect big business interests. We are proud to endorse Don and look forward to helping him win in November.”

“Washington is more corrupt than ever right now, and it’s hurting our communities,” said Don Ufford. “Billionaires and corporations have no place influencing our elections, and politicians should not be using their positions for personal profit. That’s why I support cracking down on corruption by refusing corporate PAC dollars, rooting out dark money, and banning members of Congress from trading stocks. End Citizens United is working to make these reforms happen, and I’m grateful for their endorsement.”

Don Ufford is fighting to bring down costs and create jobs in Michigan. He recognizes that political accountability is a first step toward those goals, which is why he is championing an anti-corruption platform. He is a former engineer who worked to strengthen the economy while at the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Office of Management and Budget. Ufford has also joined ECU’s Unrig Washington program, alongside more than 250 Democratic candidates committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics.
