PRESS RELEASE

End Citizens United Endorses Adam Hamawy for New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District

End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed Dr. Adam Hamawy in New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District. Hamawy is part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program for candidates that reject corporate PAC money, support a ban on congressional stock trading, and work to end dark money in politics.

“Working families are struggling to pay for groceries, medications, and basic necessities, and Washington keeps letting them down. That’s the inevitable result when politicians answer to billionaires instead of the people who sent them there,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “Dr. Adam Hamawy is running to change that. He refuses to take a dime from corporations because he is fighting for a government that represents working people, not just the wealthy and well connected. He knows New Jersey families are most concerned about paying for groceries and medications and keeping the lights on, which is why he will crack down on rising costs when he’s in office. We are proud to endorse Dr. Hamawy and look forward to helping him win in November.”

“Billionaires and corporations have too much power over our lives,” said Dr. Adam Hamawy. “It’s why people are seeing higher prices for everything from health care to gas prices. I’m ready to change the system that has enabled politicians and special interests to carry out their corrupt agendas. I’m honored to have the endorsement of End Citizens United and look forward to partnering with them so that people can trust government again.”

Dr. Adam Hamawy has built a career serving others, from emergency rooms in New Jersey to Ground Zero on 9/11. He is a veteran of the New Jersey National Guard and the U.S. Army, and he has volunteered to treat patients in war and disaster zones abroad. He has seen firsthand how large health insurance companies profit while everyday people cannot access care. Dr. Hamawy is also part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program, where he joins over 240 Democratic candidates in rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics.
