PRESS RELEASE

End Citizens United Endorses Manny Rutinel in Colorado’s 8th Congressional District

End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed Manny Rutinel in Colorado’s 8th Congressional District. Rutinel is a member of Unrig Washington, a program launched by ECU in which candidates reject corporate PAC money, support a ban on congressional stock trading, and work to end dark money in politics.

“Too many politicians sell out their constituents to collect corporate PAC checks, and Gabe Evans is at the top of that list,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “Manny Rutinel is offering voters a completely different choice: a candidate who refuses to take a dime of corporate PAC money because he knows elected officials should answer to the people they represent, not donors bankrolling their campaigns. We are proud to endorse Manny and look forward to helping him send Gabe Evans packing in November.”

“Coloradans are fed up with a government that hands favors and tax breaks to billionaires, while working families watch their bills go up month after month,” said Manny Rutinel. “Gabe Evans has repeatedly proved his loyalty to his biggest donors instead of the people he was elected to represent. It’s time to root out corruption like his and fight for the hardworking families who make up our community, and that’s why I’m honored to earn the endorsement of End Citizens United.”

Manny Rutinel brings a real commitment to working families, from fighting large corporations as an attorney to now representing Adams County in the Colorado State House. He also served as an economist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He is running a campaign focused on lowering costs and building opportunity in Colorado. Rutinel is also part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program, alongside more than 250 Democratic candidates committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics. In contrast, Gabe Evans has abandoned his principles in exchange for corporate PAC money. After pledging to oppose endless wars on the campaign trail, he began raking in contributions from the defense industry and reversed his position by supporting the war of choice with Iran and the invasion of Venezuela. As a new member of Congress, Evans has already taken over $300,000 in corporate PAC money and made ECU’s 2026 Most Corrupt Politicians List. In June, ECU President Tiffany Muller joined Congressman Jason Crow (CO-03) for a town hall in Adams County to hold Evans accountable for his extensive corruption.
