ECU Congratulates Rebecca Cooke on Winning the Democratic Primary in Wisconsin’s 3rd District

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement congratulating ECU-endorsed Rebecca Cooke on winning the Democratic primary in Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District:

“We’re excited to congratulate Rebecca Cooke on winning her primary today. She won with real integrity, by refusing to take corporate PAC money and building a powerful grassroots operation. Voters rewarded her for holding herself to high standards and championing accountability, instead of relying on a long list of special interest donors like Rep. Derrick Van Orden does. We’re proud to have endorsed Rebecca and look forward to helping her flip Wisconsin’s third district in November.”

ECU endorsed Cooke in August 2025. She brings a record of building prosperity and creating jobs in Wisconsin, eventually leading her to serve on the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation under Governor Tony Evers. She has also started a small business and led a nonprofit that empowers other local entrepreneurs. Cooke is part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program, alongside more than 270 Democratic candidates committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics. Cooke is running to unseat Derrick Van Orden, who is on ECU’s 2026 Most Corrupt Politicians List. In contrast to Cooke’s anti-corruption platform, Rep. Van Orden has happily taken hundreds of thousands of dollars in corporate PAC money and consistently put industry interests over constituent voice. Rep. Van Orden also participated in the January 6, 2021 riot in the U.S. Capitol and allegedly spent campaign funds to travel there.
