PRESS RELEASE

ECU Congratulates Senator Amy Klobuchar on Securing the Democratic Nomination for Minnesota Governor

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement congratulating ECU-endorsed Senator Amy Klobuchar on securing the Democratic nomination in Minnesota’s gubernatorial race:

“We are excited to congratulate Senator Klobuchar on officially becoming the Democratic nominee for Governor. Senator Klobuchar is a longtime ECU partner and is at the forefront of the movement to root out corruption in government and protect voting rights. She is bringing that same commitment to this gubernatorial race by not taking any corporate PAC money because her priority is always Minnesotans, not wealthy special interests. We’re proud to support Senator Klobuchar and look forward to helping her win in November.”

ECU endorsed Senator Klobuchar for Governor in March, citing her commitment to lowering costs and creating economic opportunity for working families by fighting corruption. Throughout her tenure in the Senate, Klobuchar has been a leading voice on getting Big Money out of politics, increasing transparency in elections, and protecting access to the ballot box. She has led many major democracy reform efforts in Congress, including introducing the Freedom to Vote Act and the Honest Ads Act. Klobuchar has also worked to advance a number of reform bills such as the DISCLOSE Act, the Democracy for All Amendment, the Spotlight Act, the Protect Elections from Deceptive AI Act, and a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United.
