ECU Endorses Councilwoman Marni von Wilpert in California’s 48th Congressional District

End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed San Diego City Councilwoman Marni von Wilpert in California’s 48th Congressional District. As part of ECU’s Unrig Washington program, von Wilpert rejects corporate PAC money, supports a ban on congressional stock trading, and commits to getting dark money out of elections.

“Marni von Wilpert answers to voters, not special interests,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “She’s spent her career securing real wins for Californians, from tackling unfair price gouging to stopping utility rate hikes. She’s refusing to take a dime of corporate PAC money to show that she takes accountability seriously. We’re proud to endorse her and look forward to helping her turn the 48th district blue.”

“Our system is rigged for billionaires and corporations, and working families are paying for it,” said San Diego City Councilwoman Marni von Wilpert. “I’m grateful to be endorsed by End Citizens United because they are working to root out the corruption that has pushed prices higher and eroded trust in the government. It’s past time to ban congressional stock trading, get money out of politics, and finally overturn Citizens United. I look forward to prioritizing these reforms if I’m elected to Congress.”
