PRESS RELEASE

ECU Congratulates No Corporate PAC Champion Chris Pappas on Senate Win

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement celebrating ECU-endorsed Senator-elect Chris Pappas’ victory in New Hampshire:

“Senator-elect Pappas ran on rooting out corruption and making government work for everyday people, not wealthy special interests. We are thrilled to congratulate him on becoming the next Senator for New Hampshire. Voters rewarded his message of fighting for accountability and his track record of supporting anti-corruption reforms. We’re proud he was one of over 300 Democrats who joined Unrig Washington, and we’re excited to continue working with him as he heads to the Senate.”

ECU endorsed Senator-elect Chris Pappas the day he announced his candidacy for Senate. In August, ECU President Tiffany Muller joined Pappas and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse for a roundtable on getting money out of politics. Senator-elect Pappas is a member of Unrig Washington alongside more than 300 Democratic candidates committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics.

Senator-elect Pappas has consistently backed reforms like the Freedom to Vote Act, a sweeping anti-corruption bill that would stop billionaires and corporate special interests from buying our elections, shine a light on dark money, end partisan gerrymandering, protect the freedom to vote, and strengthen ethics laws.
