ECU Congratulates No Corporate PAC Candidate Fred Wellman on Winning in Missouri’s 2nd District

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement celebrating ECU-endorsed Representative-elect Fred Wellman’s victory:

“Congratulations to Representative-elect Fred Wellman on his huge victory tonight. His record of service and his message of taking on Republican corruption in Washington flipped one of the reddest districts in the country. He was one of over 300 No Corporate PAC Democrats who joined Unrig Washington. Missourians are dealing with the devastating consequences of corporate influence in politics, and they’re ready to send a new leader to Congress who’s going to fight for change. We’re looking forward to working with Rep.-elect Wellman to hold special interests accountable and pass the reforms that people are demanding.”

Rep.-elect Fred Wellman was endorsed by ECU and joined the Unrig Washington program, alongside more than 300 Democratic candidates committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics.
