PRESS RELEASE

ECU Congratulates No Corporate PAC Candidate Rebecca Cooke on Winning in Wisconsin’s 3rd District

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement celebrating ECU-endorsed Representative-elect Rebecca Cooke’s victory:

“Congratulations to Representative-elect Rebecca Cooke on a hard-fought win. As one of over 300 Democrats who joined Unrig Washington, she ran without taking a single corporate PAC check and put anti-corruption reform at the center of her campaign. She knows that costs are going up for Wisconsin families because Washington politicians are beholden to their corporate donors, and she's determined to change that. We look forward to partnering with Rep.-elect Cooke as she takes on the status quo.”

Rep.-elect Rebecca Cooke connected anti-corruption reform to her background in economic development, pointing out that special interest money in politics prevents progress on the issues that matter most to working people. She earned ECU’s endorsement and joined the Unrig Washington program, alongside more than 300 Democratic candidates committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics. She repeatedly drew the contrast between her grassroots campaign and the corporate-funded campaign of Rep. Derrick van Orden, whom ECU named to its 2026 Most Corrupt Politicians List.
