PRESS RELEASE

End Citizens United Congratulates No Corporate PAC Candidate Josh Turek on Senate Win in Iowa

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement celebrating ECU-endorsed Senator-elect Josh Turek’s victory in Iowa:

“We’re thrilled to congratulate Senator-elect Josh Turek on this impressive win. Iowans are suffering from the effects of a government that is beholden to its special interest donors, and they backed Senator-elect Turek because he can’t be bought. He never took a corporate PAC check and campaigned on anti-corruption reform. In Congress, he’s going to stand up to Big Money and fight to lower costs because he knows that’s what matters most to working families. We're proud he was one of over 300 Democrats who joined Unrig Washington, and we look forward to working alongside him.”

ECU endorsed Senator-elect Josh Turek and hosted several events to support him throughout the cycle including an anti-corruption forum during the Democratic primary, a roundtable with Iowa community members, and an event the week before the election. He also joined Unrig Washington alongside more than 300 Democratic candidates committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics. On the campaign trail, Senator-elect Turek consistently called for an end to pay-to-play corruption in Washington.
