PRESS RELEASE

End Citizens United Congratulates Amy Klobuchar on Winning Gubernatorial Race in Minnesota

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement celebrating ECU-endorsed Minnesota Governor-elect Amy Klobuchar’s victory:

“We’re thrilled to congratulate Governor-elect Amy Klobuchar on her victory. She’s earned the trust of Minnesotans through years of leadership in the Senate, where she built a record of taking on corruption and spearheading reform efforts. She has always put working families first, and she'll bring that same commitment to Saint Paul. We’re excited to continue working with her.”

Governor-elect Amy Klobuchar was endorsed by ECU. As a senator, she joined the Unrig Washington program for federal candidates, alongside more than 300 Democrats committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics.

She has been a leading voice in the Senate for reforms to get big money out of politics, increase transparency in elections, and protect access to the ballot box. She has led major democracy reform efforts by introducing the Freedom to Vote Act and the Honest Ads Act, along with working to advance legislation that would increase transparency in elections and a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United.
