PRESS RELEASE

End Citizens United Congratulates Michigan Governor-Elect Jocelyn Benson on Victory

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement celebrating ECU-endorsed Michigan Governor-elect Jocelyn Benson’s victory:

“Congratulations to Governor-elect Jocelyn Benson on securing a big win. Michiganders elected her because they know she can’t be bought and will always put people first. Now she's taking that work to the Governor's office, and Michigan families are going to see the results. She's ready to fight for lower costs, hold corporations accountable, and make government work for the people. We’re proud to have supported her from day one.”

Governor-elect Jocelyn Benson was endorsed by ECU the day after she announced her candidacy for Governor of Michigan. She and ECU President Tiffany Muller have previously testified together before the U.S. Senate Rules Committee in support of the For the People Act (H.R.1/S.1), landmark legislation that focused on increasing voting access and getting Big Money out of elections.

As Secretary of State, she championed reforms across Michigan that increase access to the ballot box and protect voters against powerful interests. Her gubernatorial campaign centered around ensuring the government that works for Michiganders, not wealthy donors.
