PRESS RELEASE

ECU Congratulates No Corporate PAC Candidate Sam Forstag on Winning in Montana’s 1st District

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement celebrating ECU-endorsed Representative-elect Sam Forstag’s victory:

“Congratulations to Representative-elect Sam Forstag on this big win. Montanans are fed up with how money in politics is distorting policy. He made that a defining issue in this race by rejecting corporate PAC money and championing an anti-corruption platform that puts people first. He’s going to tackle the pay-to-play culture and help raise ethics standards in Washington. We're proud he joined Unrig Washington with over 300 Democrats this year, and we look forward to working with him.”

ECU endorsed Rep.-elect Sam Forstag and invested in a digital advertising campaign to help elect him. ECU President Tiffany Muller also hosted a packed town hall in Bozeman with him and former Senator Jon Tester, a Senior Fellow at ECU. Rep.-elect Forstag also joined the Unrig Washington program alongside more than 300 Democratic candidates committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics.
