PRESS RELEASE

ECU Congratulates No Corporate PAC Candidate Randy Villegas on Winning in California’s 22nd District

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement celebrating ECU-endorsed Representative-elect Randy Villegas’ victory:

“Congratulations to Representative-elect Randy Villegas on a huge win. He built his campaign on the premise that Washington is broken and needs reform. Central Valley families have been getting squeezed by corporate greed while Washington looks the other way — and last night they elected someone who is ready to fight back. Rep.-elect Villegas is going to tackle the corrupt status quo in Congress and take on the corporate special interests that are raising prices on everyday people. We’re proud he’s a member of Unrig Washington with over 300 No Corporate PAC Democrats, and we look forward to working with him.”

ECU endorsed Rep.-elect Randy Villegas and made a key investment in a mail program to help get him elected. ECU President Tiffany Muller joined him on the campaign trail in October, hosting a town hall in Bakersfield with him and Reproductive Freedom for All. He also joined Unrig Washington alongside more than 300 Democratic candidates committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics. On the campaign trail, he repeatedly called out Washington for serving its donors instead of advocating for working families.
