PRESS RELEASE

ECU Congratulates No Corporate PAC Candidate Marni von Wilpert on Winning in California’s 48th

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement celebrating ECU-endorsed Representative-elect Marni von Wilpert’s victory:

“Congratulations to Representative-elect Marni von Wilpert on this well-earned victory. Her record of holding powerful actors accountable became an important part of this race as California families looked for a leader to tackle the corruption in Washington that’s driving up costs. They put their trust in Rep.-elect von Wilpert because she never took a corporate PAC check and made real anti-corruption commitments as one of the 300 Democrats who joined Unrig Washington. We’re excited to work with her as she heads to Congress.”

Rep.-elect Marni von Wilpert was endorsed by ECU and joined the Unrig Washington program, alongside more than 300 Democratic candidates committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics. She is a trusted leader in San Diego for putting money back into the pockets of working families. She campaigned on her record of holding corporations accountable and saving taxpayers millions of dollars.
